Waterford's Best Swim Spots

Hello everyone! Welcome to my first blog in my series Blaa blogs. Waterford is located on the coastline of the sunny southeast. This allows us access to the beautiful sea right at our doorstep. I think for everyone in Waterford we forget how important of a role these beaches play from summers in Dunmore east and a spin out to Tramore and Christmas day swims. For all the swimmers that can endure the cold Irish sea here are 2 of the best swim spots that makes you wonder are you really in Waterford. One of my all-time favourites is ballymacaw. Ballymacaw is located along the Dunmore east costal walk, a hidden gem it’s in a sheltered cove with calm almost clear like water. In ballymacaw you can choose to walk in from the stoney beach or take a nature walk along the cliff that brings you down to the middle of the cove where this is opportunity for jumping of a small pier. Although hidden you might not be alone ballymacaw is often visited by friendly seals that love to observe happy ...

Waterford's Best Pubs

Welcome back everyone! Today I’m going to guide you Through Waterford best pubs, as a 20-yr old student I feel like I have got a good sense of where to get the best pint and which pub would suit each occasion best. Follow along with me as we do a virtual pub crawl. Starting off strong we have Geoff’s, Geoff’s is a bar/restaurant smack bang in the middle of town with a relaxed, casual atmosphere but has a lively buzz throughout. The demographic is a mix of all ages you can get families, the regulars, the young cool people like me or if you went to secondary school in Waterford its where the teachers go on grads night. The décor is old rustic bar with wooden walls say but also filled with vintage Guinness signs and funky modern art. It hasn’t changed in 20 years as my parents say. Geoff’s has an outdoor area in both the front and back but on a sunny day it’s like queuing to see the president to get a seat out the front, so I recommend giving the back a go, it’s a large ou...

Who am I?

Hello everyone, I’m Eloise Gauthier, I’m from the beautiful county Waterford Ireland. I’m currently in my second year of college studying marketing and digital media in SETU. In the last couple of years travelling has becoming hugely important to me and I try to get away any time that I can. Over the years I’ve learned to really appreciate where I’m coming home to and the further away, I go the more I miss home and sometimes we really take what we have around us for granted. This is a blog to show you don’t have to get on a 4-hr flight to discover the world it can be right on your doorstep. Follow along with me as I discover the place I’ve lived for 20 years!
